CKP studio has been assigned the design of a child’s playroom. This small but fun project brought the team to work in collaboration with a local artist – Khun Muay – who was called upon to draw a fantasy jungle theme on the walls, in accordance with the built-in furniture. All furniture is made of Para wood – a rubber wood obtained from the Para rubber tree, a light colored hard wood durable and strong, locally sourced and environmentally friendly as it uses trees that have already served their purpose.
The room has been designed to maximize the use of space: customs storage with box drawers with easy access for the child, stair shelves, a double level playground including a mezzanine and a slide. The colors used are a mix of green and natural tones to remind the wilderness and outdoor environment. A green rope waived in a diagonal asymmetric pattern is in place providing a safe and fun environment for the child to play.
